Donald “Donnie” Ratliff has been named the new chairman of the Virginia Coal and Energy Alliance Inc. Ratliff is vice president of state governmental affairs for Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Wyoming for Alpha Natural Resources.

Atrum Coal NL appointed Cameron Vorias to the board as a non-executive director. Vorias is currently managing director and CEO of Sojitz Coal Mining Pty Ltd.

Coalspur Mines Ltd. announced that Theodore (Ted) Mayers has resigned as a director.

Ingram Industries Inc. promoted Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Eleanor McDonald to executive vice president and general counsel and secretary. She joined Ingram in 2006 as assistant general counsel.

Jeffery Kohler, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health associate director for mining, has been appointed by The Pennsylvania State University to the George H. and Anne B. Deike chair of mining engineering in the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. The George H. and Anne B. Deike Endowed Chair in Mining Engineering is a tenured professorship. At NIOSH, he helped coordinate the first cross-divisional program in hearing loss prevention, pioneering what has now become a standard organizational approach at NIOSH. Dr. Kohler served as the associate director for mining and construction before the Office of Construction Safety and Health was established. In that role, he worked with others to develop a construction strategic plan, which was then reviewed by the National Academies. Kohler has stepped down from his position as NIOSH associate director for mining.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp. appointed Mark Marinko as senior vice president and CFO.

Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview announced that William H. Chapman, formerly a senior environmental law partner at K&L Gates, joined the company as CEO. Chapman has served as senior outside counsel for Millennium for the past three years.

Baldor Electric Company has promoted Greg Hewitt to mounted bearing engineering manager. In this role, he will be responsible for all mounted bearing product-related engineering and will directly manage the product development team in Greenville, South Carolina. Previously, he was the supervisor of the bearings and PTC design group.
