TruckLogic was first used by Suncor Energy Inc. at its Millennium mine near Fort McMurray, Alberta (See December 2013 Coal Age, p. 30). In a three-month pilot test with new haul truck operators, TruckLogic use led to a 50% drop in accidents and a 4.5% productivity increase.
The TruckLogic design, according to company officials, provides a meaningful, memorable and motivational learning experience driving improvements in safety and productivity.
Award winners, said VISTA, were selected on criteria drawn from CSTD’s Competencies for Training and Development Professionals, the practice standard for Canadian training and development professionals. Submissions are reviewed by peers in the country’s learning and development community.
