Last year, the province produced 137 million mt of raw coal, 14.8% more than in 2008. As of December 31, Guizhou had 1,832 coal mines, of which 1,759 had an annual output below 300,000 mt. Guizhou Province, Shaanxi Province, Shanxi Province, Henan Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which have most of the coal reserves in China, are expected to increase their output by 200 million mt this year.
