“Custom electrical designs and building solutions will greatly enhance AMR’s sales efforts in multiple markets such as international mining and the U.S. oil and gas industry. In turn, integrating the electronic monitoring, communications and automation controls expertise of AMR’s technical staff will create a new line of technologically advanced power centers for underground and surface mining,” Graf said.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in early November.

Mole-Master Publishes New Silo Inspection Brochure
Mole-Master Services Corp., a leader in the silo and bin cleaning industry, has developed a new four-page brochure summarizing the company’s silo inspection services. Monk Mining Supply Becomes Phoenix Conveyor Belt Solutions
Tazewell, Virginia-based distributor of conveyor belt products, Monk Mining Supply Inc., has become Phoenix Conveyor Belt Solutions Inc. “The only thing about our business that changes is the name,” said Ron Gibson, general manager of the former Monk Mining Supply Inc.
For the last eight years, Monk has operated as a subsidiary of Veyance Technologies Inc., a company that was added to Phoenix Conveyor Belt Solutions in 2015. “We will continue to operate as a unit of our supplier and remain just as autonomous in our business as prior to the name change,” Gibson said.

“The name change now enables us to speak, write, brand, market and distribute our products with unanimity and consistency,” said Bret Hall, head of Phoenix and NBS Service-NAFTA. “It also helps us more closely align the distributed products under one name. Everything else within the [former Monk] organization will remain the same, from purchase orders to all other financial and business-related activities.”
Xylem Specifies Volvo Penta for Godwin Dewatering Systems
Godwin, a brand of Xylem and global leader in the supply of fully automatic self-priming pumps, has selected Volvo Penta to provide Tier 4 Final diesel PowerPac units that will drive various Godwin pump systems. Specific to mine operations, these dewatering pumps perform the critical task of eliminating water build-up quickly and efficiently to ensure productivity is not impeded. Volvo Penta is supplying the PowerPac units in 8-, 11- and 13-liter packages with power ratings from 214 to 543 hp.
The Volvo Penta PowerPac systems are designed for fast and easy installation by OEMs. They are supplied with factory pre-installed components including all exhaust aftertreatment components, engine cooling system (radiator and charge air cooler), air and fuel filters, guarding and shrouding. The units come with the Volvo Penta Tier 4 Final, selective catalytic reduction (SCR)-based solution that is less complex and extremely efficient in operation.
“We designed the Volvo Penta PowerPac as a compact plug-and-play solution that can easily be integrated into the OEM machines with no custom engineering, significantly decreasing the time of installation and alleviating complexities,” said Darren Tasker, vice president of industrial sales for Volvo Penta of the Americas.
Volvo Penta’s Tier 4 Final engines use a proven SCR process with cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), to meet EPA emission standards without the need for periodic regeneration. This means less downtime and lower maintenance costs.
“For our pumping systems, we need engines that we know can stand the wear and tear of industrial jobs in some very difficult environments,” said Mike Ramos, director of engineering for Xylem’s dewatering business.
