In addition to business-to-business networking, the biennial conference and exhibition offers continuing education for underground coal operators

The Longwall USA International Conference & Exhibition returns to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh May 19-22. This trade show, which takes place every two years, serves the underground coal market in general and longwall mining in particular. Over the course of three days, speakers and college students will offer roughly 20 presentations that cover longwall mining, development work and ground control. In addition, researchers from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will host two workshops to educate engineers and mine managers.
