Increased imports from China, compounded by rebounding appetite from the rest of Asia as well as Europe, could push global coal prices higher, as regional supplies often struggle to keep pace with demand due to infrastructure constraints. Five out of seven analysts expected China coking coal demand to rise again next year on the back of higher steel production as mills restart their factories.
