CPT 2024 LR-minHundreds of coal-processing professionals gathered this week in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, for CoalProTec 2024, a conference and exhibition produced by the Coal Preparation Society of America (CPSA). Randy Atkins, CEO, Ramaco Coal, kicked the conference off with a keynote presentation, “The Cure for Coal,” where he discussed uses for coal beyond the traditional thermal and metallurgical markets. His presentation was one of many talking about new products from coal. Plant managers from several major U.S. coal operators gave presentations on plant upgrades.

More than 80 suppliers showcased their coal processing equipment and technologies.

During its annual meeting, the current CPSA Chairman, Jeff Walkup, coal preparation director for American Consolidated Natural Resources, passed the torch to John Nielson, regional process engineer for Arch Resources. The next CoalProTec will take place in May 2026.
