Federal officials said on October 1 that its Request for Information (RFI) on Refuge Alternatives for Underground Coal Mines will now be due April 2, 2015, extending the October 2 deadline.
The RFI was first released August 8, 2013, (78 FR 48593) and has since had its deadline pushed back several times. MSHA said the additional time between October 1 and April 2, 2015, will allow interested parties more opportunity to review research reports and other relevant information that address specific issues.
The RFI is now on file with the Federal Register, and all extension notices are available on MSHA’s website.
The federal refuge alternatives rule became effective March 2, 2009.
