Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Russia’s coal mining, deliveries to the domestic market and exports fell in April amid lower global demand for energy, as reported by Reuters. “Coal production in Russia fell by about 10% during April, while domestic deliveries fell by about 6%,” Novak said. “Coking coal exports increased slightly, but thermal coal exports fell by about 10%.”

The Russian coal industry has seen a downward trend for key production indicators, but not as dramatic as the oil and gas industry.
