The agency said April 20 that its RFI, originally issued February 26, for mine ventilation and roof control plans; atmospheric monitoring systems and new technology for remote monitoring systems; methods to suppress the propagation of coal dust explosions; and criteria and procedures for certification, recertification, and decertification of persons qualified to conduct mine examinations (80 FR 10436) will now be open to accept industry input until June 26.

It initially had outlined April 27 as the deadline, but officials opted for the extension to allow additional time for responses to be coordinated.

The entire RFI is available at the Federal Register Public Inspection Desk. MSHA requests use of the docket number “MSHA-2014-0029” to comment on the document.
