The Ministry of Industry and Trade asked the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) and the Dong Bac Corp. to provide coal for coal-fired thermal power plants as committed in their signed contracts.
The two firms must ensure their coal production capacities and take all the possible measures to ensure adequate coal for coal-fired thermal power plants, so Vietnam does not have to compensate for the suspension of these plants, the local media reported.
The ministry stressed that the insufficient supply of coal for thermal power plants would not be accepted in any case.
The ministry also asked the Vietnam Electricity Group to direct the National Load Dispatch Center to announce the monthly electricity mobilization plans to investors of coal-fired thermal power plants so that they can ensure the coal volume for electricity generation.
