During the first eight months of this year, Ukrainian coal mining companies increased coal output by 3.1% year-on-year to about 49.2 million metric tons (mt), according to data released by Ukraine Ministry of Coal Industry. Coking coal production from January to August amounted to 16.4 million mt down 3% while output of steam coal totaled 32.8 million mt up by 6.5% year-on-year.
