New World Resources N.V. (NWR) announced an all-cash offer to acquire Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. for approximately €857 million. “Combining NWR and Bogdanka will create a leader in the Central European coal industry with Poland at the heart of its future development,” said Mike Salamon, executive chairman, NWR. The company also announced its intention to re-incorporate in the United Kingdom, paving the way for FTSE eligibility. That could occur as early as the first half of 2011.
