The contract represents Leighton’s first strategic move into coking coal mining in Borneo’s emerging Central Kalimantan region. Under the contract, PT Leighton Contractors Indonesia will provide project management, mine planning and surveying services. It will also supervise and secure the site as well as supply materials, heavy equipment, labor transportation, medical services and site infrastructure. PT Leighton Contractors and PT Marunda Grahamineral have yet to finalize the contract terms and conditions.
