Although the coal terminal has the capability of shipping more than 7 million metric tons (mt) a month, it is only processing about 4 million mt a month at the moment, due to a decreased global demand for coal. A DBCT spokesman said, “There has been sufficient coal to load three quarters of vessels at any time in the last few months. The wet weather caused just a slight delay of about a day, although it was more due to strong winds and the seas that built up rather than rain.”
