Chilean firm OMX Operaciones Marítimas, a subsidiary of Brazil’s EBX group, has been granted a port concession in the municipality of Copiapó adjacent to where Brazilian energy group MPX Energia’s 2.4 gigawatt (gw) Castilla coal plant is set to be built, BN Americas reported. Plans for the plant call for the construction of two 127-mw, diesel-fired turbines and six 350-mw pulverized coal-fired units.
