Railings to the Terminal ceased on March 18. Some mines suspended operations to ensure safety. The terminal sustained some off-shore damage from Cyclone Ului to walkways, cabling and platforms. An early and incomplete assessment suggested it would take three to six weeks for both berths to return to full operation.

BHP Billiton has notified affected customers of a force majeure event. BHP will continue to work with its customers and inform them when operations resume at the terminal. BHP Billiton is monitoring conditions at mine sites and are gradually recommencing operations in line with safety procedures.
