Centennial Coal said its Airly mine has loaded the first train bound for South Korea via Port Kembla. “The Pacific National train was fully loaded with 3,300 metric tons of thermal coal, providing the ideal conditions to test the coal-loading equipment and rail infrastructure, which all performed well,” said Centennial Coal Managing Director Bob Cameron. The Airly continuous miner operation produced its first thermal coal in December. The company is aiming for 1.6- to 1.8-million-mtpy coal from the mine.
