The company, which was a subsidiary of Australian group Ambre Energy until the parent company sold its majority ownership in late 2014, will remain headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lighthouse Resources continues to operate the Decker mine in southeastern Montana and the Black Butte operation in southwestern Wyoming. It also is developing port export facilities in Washington and Oregon.

Officials for the privately held company said April 13 that the name change parallels its ties and commitment to its projects.

“The name Lighthouse Resources affirms the company’s fundamental values while looking to the future,” President and Chief Executive Officer Everett King said. “We are focused on integrating our natural resource assets, developing export channels in the Pacific Northwest and leveraging our marketing expertise to serve our domestic customers and Asian trade allies.”
