“Should the pressure release mechanism fail in any way, either through the actual device or the software — which is password protected — this arrangement and this plate would protect workers from harm,” said Paul Lessard, marketing manager for TPH. “Even if all of those things were to go wrong and the unit would become over-pressurized, there is nowhere for the pistons to go.”

Mining companies are making multimillion dollar investments in these units and they need to understand that they are safe, Lessard explained. TPH is now placing these units on all of their filter presses.
