Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), an India-based tire manufacturer, will supply 42 EARTHMAX SR 468 tires (40.00 R 57) to South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL). The first batch of six tires made for SECL has already been shipped, and two more batches will reach the customer soon.

This is an important milestone, which further confirms BKT’s position in the mining sector as a key player for the OTR industry. The SR 468 57-in. tire, the largest ever made by BKT, was manufactured at the company’s plant in Bhuj, India, and designed to equip rigid dump trucks operating in the most hostile conditions.

This huge tire is characterized by being particularly resistant to attacks and punctures, thanks to the all-steel structure and it is therefore suitable for rough and muddy terrain. Some of the appealing features of the SR 468 are the special tread design and its compound, both created to limit the heat generated. The E-4 tread depth provides extreme resistance in highly challenging conditions.

This order also rewards the group’s willingness to enter and invest in the mining-class OTR segment, a choice driven by the requests and feedback, which the brand receives directly from users every day.
