Currently one low profile Eickhoff CM2H-30 and another recently refurbished Eickhoff CM2H-37 are successfully cutting at the Maquasa Adits on a 10-production shifts per week roster and two maintenance shifts per month.
Kangra Coal employs about 720 staff and annually extracts approximately 4 million metric tons (mt) of raw coal from the operations that are located approximately 60 km West of Piet Retief, Mpumalanga province.
About 2 million mt clean coal production is exported via the Richards Bay Coal Terminal in which Kangra has a corresponding entitlement of the entire handling capacity of this deep water port. The remainder of Kangra Coal’s production is sold to local customers like the Mondi paper mills. Eickhoff successfully supported the contractor business, previously employed by Kangra Coal, for more than six years.
