Arch Coal, Inc. has appointed Jeffrey W. Strobel vice president of business development and strategy. The company also announced Matt Ferguson has been appointed senior vice president of Arch Coal Sales, Inc. He will be responsible for metallurgical and thermal sales into the European and South American markets, domestic metallurgical sales, trading and commercial logistics. Jennifer Johnson will continue as a senior vice president of Arch Coal Sales, with responsibility for all of Arch’s domestic thermal coal sales. John Ziegler has been appointed senior director of compensation and benefits.

The award is a credit to Pfannenstiel’s work directing Mongolia’s first coal mine restoration project near the community of Bulgan, which included collaboration with joint venture partner Peabody-Winsway, based in Ulaanbaatar.
