European coal traders are seeking buyers for unused coal, Bloomberg reported. With a mild winter and an influx of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the mainland averted an energy shortage and coal stockpiles grew. More than 1 million tons have been shipped from Europe to other ports this year. The turnaround from scarcity to glut has caused prices to deliver coal to the ports of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp to tumble to just $90/mt, less than a quarter of last year’s spike, Bloomberg reported.
