South Africa’s National Treasury is performing independent review of Eskom’s 14 coal-fired power plants, which should be concluded by
July, according to Mining Weekly. The review of the assets will be led by VGBE and will include input from Dornier Power, KWS Energy, RWE Technology and Steag Energy. The review will determine which plants could be restored to original standards, and which should be
decommissioned.
