Walter Energy Inc., a top Birmingham-based met coal producer has two SL 750 longwall shearer loaders from Eickhoff Corp., said company officials. The machines will operate at an installation near Brookwood, Ala. This shearer model is used in medium-high seams, and has been rated highly successful in operations worldwide; Eickhoff is based in Germany.
