“For four generations, Kentucky coal put food on my family’s table,” said Todd O’Pool, who is running for Kentucky Attorney General.

Coal mining families came to support their basic source of income and even shoveled some coal themselves. “I’m real proud of my husband and the work that he does,” said Amanda Bowling, the wife of a coal miner. Amanda said coal allowed her family to move back to Eastern Kentucky where she was born and raised. Coal officials say the only way to stop the war on coal is to stand up and be heard, which is exactly what thousands did at the rally.
