The Kentucky office of Mine Safety and the Kentucky Coal Association (KCA) sponsored the award. The award was presented at the Kentucky Coal Association’s annual meeting in Lexington.

Enterprise had no lost-time or reportable injuries during 2010, which was the timeframe for the award. Enterprise also had the best compliance record with Kentucky mine safety regulations. Enterprise operates two mines and employs approximately 90 people.

“Our commitment to safety is the number one priority,” said Eddie Bateman, senior vice president of Alpha’s Virginia and Kentucky operations. “We are pleased to see these employees recognized for their hard work and commitment to Running Right every day. This award helps validates their efforts.”
