The $360 million port transformation also includes dredging of the maneuvering basin, and important works in the coal storage yard, said representatives of the Birmingham, Ala.-based company; the port lies 10 km from the town of Ciénaga.
The dock contains drainage and containment systems along with industrial wastewater management, dust suppression and water spraying, said the company. In addition, the port is certified with OHSAS 18001 in industrial safety and occupational health and BASC and ISPS-certified in security and port protection.
