Licensed hunters can take their harvest to an approved meat processor who will, in turn, package it and send it to HSH volunteers for distribution. While the cost of deer processing is typically the hunter’s responsibility, during the 2013 season, CONSOL will pay approved meat processors in Washington, Westmoreland, Fayette and Greene counties.
“More than 1.3 million Pennsylvanians are living beneath the lowest-income poverty level,” said Dave Bojtos, manager of property dispositions at CONSOL. “And a good number of our employees are hunters and outdoor recreationists who live, work and hunt in these counties; that, combined with our commitment to community where we operate, makes this a win-win situation.”
