Kazinform reported that year-to-date through the end of October, Kazakhstan exported 23.4 million metric tons (mt) of coal. Domestically, 61.8 million metric tons of coal were delivered to the market, explained Kazakh Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev. “Of that total volume, 74.4%, that is 46 million mt of coal, was shipped to power plants.” Roughly 10 million mt of coal were consumed by the residential market.
