Arch Coal, Inc. announced J. Thomas Jones, CEO of West Virginia United Health System, and Peter I. Wold, president of Wold Oil Properties, have been elected to the company’s board of directors.
TECO Energy Inc. has named John B. Ramil president and CEO. He succeeds Chairman of the Board and CEO Sherrill W. Hudson, who will serve as executive chairman of the board through December 2012, at which time he will retire.
Richard M. LiConti has joined Eickhoff Corp. as vice president with responsibilities for company sales and service operations in the U.S. He has held executive, operations and engineering management positions during his career in mining.
Sandra Loy Bell, Skelly and Loy’s chief executive officer, was recently named as one of Central Pennsylvania’s 25 Women of Influence of 2010 by Central Penn Business Journal and its program sponsors. This prestigious award was given to Bell because of her significant career accomplishments, leadership and mentoring, and community involvement. The Women of Influence Awards, created in 2010, are an effort to recognize women leaders in the Central Pennsylvania area who are making significant positive impacts on their companies, industries and communities.
The Illinois Mining Institute (IMI) executive board recently announced winners of the 2010 Awards of Excellence. The IMI Honorary Member Award was presented to Dr. Y. Paul Chugh, Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The IMI Excellence in Mining Award-Experienced Miner was presented to Cliff Walker, Peabody Energy and Tim Kirkpatrick, M-Class Mining. The IMI Excellence in Mining Award-Industry Support was presented to Bill Hoback, chief, Illinois Office of Coal Development. The IMI Excellence in Mining Award-Apprentice Miner was presented to Dan McClean, Peabody Energy. In addition, Nancy Cline of IMI received meritorious service award for her contributions and her husband, Lyle Cline, was recognized for his honorary service at the IMI annual meetings.
