The conference, which is sponsored by Coal Age and managed by Mining Media International, focuses on open-pit mining in general and truck-shovel mining in particular. Over the course of three days (May 20-22), 20 experts will deliver technical presentations dealing with safety, training, operations, maintenance and new technology.

Hal Quinn, president and CEO, the National Mining Association, will discuss American mining during a luncheon speech on the opening day. In his presentation, American Mining: Raising Our Game on the Global Stage, he will explain that, while U.S. mines are some of the world’s best and its mineral endowment is among the world’s richest, public policies are constraining the nation’s ability to perform at a higher level.

Professional development hours are available for professional engineers attending the conference. In addition to the conference, Haulage & Loading also hosts a small exhibit area with approximately 30 vendors who provide technical services for the mining sector. A number of social activities are planned at the resort. The final program along with other related information is available at: www.haulageandloading.com.
